There’s a folder on my laptop marked “Happy”. It is a digital scrapbook that I keep filled with things that bring me joy. In it are photos of happy events, screenshots of amusing or affirmative conversations, music videos that give me goosebumps and fun animal videos.
Always fun animal videos.
This folder is something I curate on the good days in anticipation of the days when nothing seems to be going right. When times are hard, it is often difficult to remember that you are not your circumstances and that it will pass. The contents of the folder help short–circuit the negative mindset, the snapshots remind me of the blessings I have in my life and that more joy will be coming.
For always remember this; no matter how bleak things seem, the sun will eventually break through the clouds and there will be light once again in your life.

Thanks to your write-up! Great reminder and inspirational too!
Yes, indeed. We are more than the sum of our memories and imaginations, though they do constitute our story-based selves replete with false programs for happiness. But who or what are we really, beyond our stories and programs? Unveiling this truth is a lifelong adventure not for the faint-hearted, but essential.
I like the imagery of the sun shining luminously in the cloudless sky, dying in each moment to give out warmth and light. But the sky does not need to be cloudless always. For even with clouds, the sun still shines. And some clouds can be pretty and wondrous, shading and cooling respite.
