These Shoes Are Made For Walking

Sneakers are my favourite footwear. They are classic and versatile and fun. They’ve walked hundreds of miles with me, endured uneven paths and muddy fields, witnessed the connections I’ve made on these journeys. I’ve worn down many a pair, some more than others, and I hold them all dear to my heart. To me, they are less foot gear and more like old friends accompanying me on my adventures.

The best sneakers make me feel as if I am walking on clouds. They hold me steady on wet surfaces, extra points if they look good. At the end of the day, what really matters is that they are reliable and that they will be with me for a while.

So, here’s a toast to the ghost of sneakers past and to the ones I’ve yet to meet. May there be many, many more adventures together.
