The Café At The Crossroads

I love this café. It is strategically situated where two walking paths meet. On rainy mornings when the sky is tempestuous, it stands like a lighthouse, a beacon of warmth against the grey. You can spot its cheery invitation from a distance, enticing you to go in and sit awhile.
I ducked into the café a couple of times when I was caught in a sudden downpour. I’d get myself a cup of hot cocoa, find a table at a corner and watch people drift in – adults grabbing coffee on the way to the office, students, a group of women in running attire who like me, had not checked the weather app that morning. I love how the place would gradually start to get rowdy as some of these people sit in groups and chat, an unexpected reprieve from routine. We’re all at the mercy of the rain and because I usually do not have any place to be, I find myself enjoying the unhurried morning break. It is a good reminder to slow down.
When was the last time you deviated from your daily schedule and took a breather?

Sounds lovely, hot cocoa at a cafe amidst trees and sky serenaded by a downpour of fresh morning dew. This cafe looks familiar. Is that the one in Bishan Park?
