Of Cats And Paws

One of the things I learnt when I got a cat is the word toe beans. If you don’t know what that is, it’s the soft pads on the underside of a cat’s paw. The formal name for it is digital pads but toe beans sound a lot more fun! Apparently, it is so named because they look like jelly beans! And depending on the colour, they are divided into black beans, pinto beans, mixed beans, coffee beans, pink peas, chickpeas, and black eye peas. How delightful is that?
