My Wish For The New Year 2023

As the new year unfolds and unexpected paths open up, may you embrace this strange, new world bravely. If the path is rocky, may there be friends to accompany your travels and rest stops with hot cocoa and a warm bath. Look for flowers that bloom in this harsh land and take a moment to appreciate the beauty that not only exist but thrive here and know that you can do the same. And when you get to the end of the journey, may there be a view that is more breathtaking than what you could ever imagine.

If the path is paved and smooth, bask in the sunshine, the birdsong, the blueness of the sky. Remember this joy and etch it across your heart to be called upon on days when doubts clamour louder than faith. Gather up the roses at the side of the road and share your bounty with others. Happiness shared is, after all, happiness multiplied.

In this new year, let’s take better care of each other. Lift someone up every chance you get, make someone smile every day and leave them feeling better for having interacted with you. We are all here for a short time, sharing space on this rock. A little kindness can go towards making the nettles and poison ivies bearable.
