In The Beginning

Beginnings evoke mixed feelings in me. On the one hand, it is always scary to step off the well-trodden path and into the unknown. On the other hand, it’s a blank slate to shape as you like, the rules still amorphous, its possibilities exciting. There’s this flutter in your stomach that could either be exhilaration or terror and if you don’t overthink and jump off, you’re well on your way to a new adventure.

Whether something is exhilaration or terror is a matter of framing. Both have more or less the same physical signs – increased heart rate, sweaty palms, shaking. When faced with those prospects, always choose excitement. It is more fun that way.

This adventure is possible because I chose excitement. May you choose the same as well.
