Falling

The sight of golden showers in bloom is uplifting to behold.

On warm afternoons when a breeze comes on and shakes the blossoms off their perch, it is like one of those scenes in a movie where a cascade of petals trail through the air like delicate confetti to create this surreal, magical moment. My favourite thing to do when this happens is to stand beneath the trees and let the flowers fall all around me, letting them get in my hair, my face, my clothes. Sometimes I would hold out my hand and see if any would land on my palm.

It's like catching falling snow.
